Happy Pride!!

I love a parade, and today's Pride Parade was a real spectacle! It was really too hot to stay outside for too long, so we saw a little bit and left for home. The air conditioning is so comfortable at home!

I hadn't posted any comments about Asia's loss in the World Cup because I was feeling a bit blue. But I'm done mourning now and I'm over it.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming Canada Day long weekend. I hope both Mama and Papa can spend the day with me!

I'm Sad

The Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup. They beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-1 in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. I was cheering for the Oilers because they were the underdogs and they played so well in game 6. But the Hurricanes took it all away. I guess if I were to look at it in a more optimistic way, the Oilers did get pretty darn far, especially for an underdog team! Next year the Cup is coming home to Canada.

Looks like I'll be watching more soccer now.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Papa! You are sugoi!! Thank you for being so nice and taking care of me and Mama. I love it when you take me out for walks and tug-o-war too. My favourite is when you cuddle with me and let me snooze on the couch with you while you're watching sports.

Speaking of sports, boy did I tune into the World Cup games today! If you didn't watch, Japan and Croatia were both scoreless in their game (which means there's still hope!), Brazil beat Australia 2-0, and Korea Republic and France drew 1-1. I'm really rooting for the underdog (haha no pun intended - or was it?). Go Nippon!!

World Cup 2006

Are you watching the World Cup games? Are you keeping up with the victories? If not, have you been living in a cave this past week? I'm sure you are well aware that the tournament of the biggest sport on the planet has begun. Who are you cheering for? I'm cheering for everyone because my favourite team (Canada if you didn't know) isn't playing.

I love watching soccer because the ball races from one end of the tv screen to the other and I chase it with my eyes. I wish I had the energy to run like those athletes for the whole time. I think I'd be able to keep up for about 5 minutes and then I need a nap for 45 minutes.

This morning Korea Republic played Togo and they won 2-1! There were several Korean kids that were watching the game on the big screen tv one floor below mine, and they were just screaming and cheering when Korea scored. All that cheering was getting me excited too!

Woofstock 2006

This weekend is the annual Woofstock event. It's at St. Lawrence Market this year because it's so popular now that the Distillery District is too small to be the venue. Here are a couple of Frenchies, my bulldog cousins.

I met lots of new friends. This is a 1.5 year old Bullie named Rosie. She was really sweet!

I didn't get this guy's name, but he was a rescue from the States. He sits in this stroller and gets wheeled around everywhere because his legs don't work well anymore. Look at that gorgeous face! I wanted to give him kisses all day long!

Here's another guy. He was pretty huge! I like getting my bum scratched. I think that was the best part of today.

OK maybe these treats were the best part of today. Papa got me one beef bone, but I really wanted the whole tray.

Ooh these frozen treats are new! They're from Purina and they're made of soy protein. You can find them in the frozen food section of the grocery store. A box of 4 for $3.99!!

I ended up eating the whole thing. It was so oishii!! How can I get Mama to buy these for me?

I was just chilling in the shade when this Rottie behind me started rolling in the dirt. He was kicking up dust everywhere and made me dirty too. Not cool.

So I took a splash in a wading pool and got myself cleaned up and cooled off.

Check out this new red leather harness Mama bought me at Woofstock. It's supposed to not hurt my neck when I pull, and Papa says that he feels like he can control me better. Judging by all of the goodies I got today, I wonder just who is controlling who?

Hooray for June

Wow it's been 17 days since my last post! I'm so sorry that I've been on such a long hiatus. Actually I should blame Mama, she's been busy with the laptop working on her presentation for a chemistry conference in Halifax. So now she's back and I can start posting again. This is me in the bib that Mama brought back for me, it's from her lobster dinner. I can smell the lobster and butter residue that's still on the bib!! So delicious!

Mama said that people in Halifax are super friendly and the food is really good too. She didn't see too many dogs there, but that's probably because she was too busy doing the geeky stuff at the conference.

Can you believe that it's June already? I've started taking my heartworm meds now. They taste yucky.
