Aiko-sama

I was reading about Princess Aiko of Japan in the newspaper today. She turned 4 last December. Apparently she has a skating coach, likes to sing, climb trees, and do origami. She can also brush her own teeth and change her own clothes. (Show off!)

It looks like Japan is in the works to make changes to the Imperial House Law to allow females and their decsendants to ascend to the throne. This would mean that Princess Aiko could become the first Emperess in almost 200 years.

I think it would be great growing up in a royal family. You could learn about whatever you wanted to, eat whatever you like, go where ever you felt like. If I were a princess, I would sleep, eat, and play all the time. And in that order too. Oh wait, I already do all those things. Hmm...I guess this means that I am a princess?

Happy Lunar New Year!

Happy Lunar New Year to all of my friends! It's year of the dog you know. So you have to be nice and generous to the underdog if you want to be lucky. Honesty, loyalty and being a team player are all key to success this year...no sneaky business or you will have bad luck following you around. My almanac tells me that it's not such a good year for snakes (too bad Mama...) but a good year for horses (yay for Papa!)...but who believes in this stuff anyway?

Nevertheless, I am wishing you this year will bring you love, happiness, prosperity, good health, and lots of good fortune! Gong hey fat choi! Now let's eat!

The Best Saturday Ever!

This morning Thomas Ojichan came over to borrow a drill from Papa, it was so nice to see him again! But I really had to go to the bathroom, so I ran all the way down the hall and waited at the stairs. But Papa called me back and then he didn't even take me out! Mama was in the shower, so she wasn't any help to me. I waited and waited. Even after Thomas Ojichan left, I still waited - and nothing! I had to pee so bad...I ended up spotting on the carpet. Mama saw my discomfort and took me out. What a relief. You know that relief you get when you finally go pee after holding it in for so long? And boy it was a big pee, Mama was surprised. The nap I had afterwards was so worth it.

I went with Papa to pick up Mama from school again tonight. I got to visit with Uncle Brian too. It was fun, he has a soccer ball, but I wasn't allowed to play with it. I punctured the last one that Mama got for me in 5 minutes. I tried really hard to sneak around to get the ball, but I always got caught. I have to be more subtle next time. Uncle Brian is so much fun, he loves to wrestle with me, I let him win all the time though. Otherwise he'd feel bad getting beat by a girl.

Friday Again

Me and Papa took a walk to Mama's lab tonight to pick her up from work. She works so late sometimes, I wonder if she's really doing any work at all. I saw an Asian girl on our walk and I thought it was Mama. I was so excited and pulled towards her, but then she walked by and ignored me! It was just some strange Asian girl. But they really do all look the same to me. It was a long walk to the lab and then back home right away. At least it wasn't too cold, Papa made me wear my hoodie, I love my hoodie. I'm so tired now, I can barely keep my eyes open.

Konnichiwa Bonjour Aloha Hello!!

I wanted to say hello to all of the international visitors and the homegrown ones too! Thank you for visiting my blog and taking the time to read what's on my mind. Please don't be shy, leave me a message! This is going to be a small and short post, I woke up about an hour ago, went potty, ate some breakfast...so now it's nap time. See you soon!

Happy Birthday Mama!

Happy birthday Mama. You look younger and younger with each birthday. I am so happy that you take such good care of me all of the time. I wish that this year will be much better than last year and that you will finally finish your degree so you can spend more time baking cookies for me. I heard that Papa also wants you to finish your degree so you will spend more time cooking for him too. He says to me that he's tired of doing housework all day long. Let's go celebrate!!

Eukanuba for Prime Minister

So today the country is going to vote. I wish I could vote too, but I'm not old enough. I'll have to trust that Mama is going to make the right decision on my behalf too. Papa can't vote because he's not a Canadian citizen. But he is pretty opinionated about the government too. I think Stephen Harper is going to win... that scares me a little bit because I don't think he's a dog person. We'll have to wait and see what happens to this country once he's in power. But then again, change is always a good thing.

Saturday morning fun

There is a cat that lives in the suite across from mine. He is a white fluffy thing and likes to torment me by walking in front of the window. He pauses there ... we have a stare down ... he gives me a look .. I bark ... and bark ... and bark. He ignores me. I hate that cat. One day I will win at the stare down.

Hooray it's the weekend!

Well it's now Friday and I've spent almost all week with Papa. He seems to be somewhat agitated these days. I wonder if work might be getting to him. I wish he would relax a bit and take more naps and walks with me. I think that would be good for his high blood pressure. On the other hand, Mama is also a workaholic, but she stays in the lab and never comes home. And when she finally does, she's never in the mood to play. I guess I can always get her attention by peeing on the floor. I hope they spend more time with me, I think I'm getting chubby.

It's cold today

It's raining outside. I hate rain. It makes me chilly. I like to curl up on my blanket and sleep the day away when it's raining. Papa has been working at home these days. I like when he's home because he lets me nap on the couch with him in the afternoons.

My name is Aiko. This is my first post. I live in Toronto with my parents. My favourite things are sleeping on the couch, eating peanut butter, chewing my bear, and playing cute.

I wish you all a happy new year.
